Triple H is setting a new standard in the wrestling business. He has reinvented the way the heel character is played in professional wrestling. He can abuse an opponent both verbally and physically. What he says is on the stick, and he backs up in the ring. As far as I can remember, there hasn't been a heel in wrestling that has been on top for as long as HHH, nor that has been hated as much as he. That's saying a lot being that I've been watching wrestling for the better part of 17 years. He has opposed every top face in the World Wrestling Federation, and has pinned them all more than you'd probably like to admit. As the saying goes, "by hook or by crook," most of his victories have come with more than a little crook. In addition to cheating, however, he has also pinned all of the same faces cleanly in the middle of the ring. Once he hits his finisher, The Pedigree, everyone in the building knows it's academic -- just a matter of covering his opponent for the 1......2......3. Personally, I think that he can hold his current status as "King Heel" for as long as he wants. He doesn't need the title to be over. He's already over. What's left for him to do as a heel? He's already beaten Stone Cold Steve Austin. He's put Mick Foley out of the business. His feud with The Rock (in which he holds the edge), was...well... it was just plain getting old. The purpose of his current program with Chris Jericho is to bring Jericho up to main event status, and if you ask me, it has already worked. I think Chris Jericho is great, but I'll get into that topic in another article. After Fully Loaded, there isn't much more for The Game to do. What I believe the writers will do is take the best part of his character (his distastefulness), and change it. Triple H, the best damn heel in the World Wrestling Federation, is going to turn face. He'll have a hell of a feud with Kurt Angle, after his brief but entertaining stint with The Undertaker. I'm guessing that the not so subtle hints of Kurt Angle and Stephanie hooking up and Steph and HHH breaking up will lead to this feud.
I think it will be entertaining and worth watching. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what will happen, but why not come up with some ideas for future feuds? There aren't very many top level heels in the WWF. There are a lot more main event faces. On the face side you've got, The Undertaker, Kane, Rock, Jericho, and probably Rikishi. While on the heel side you've got Benoit, Angle, Triple H (for now) and........well........I can't think of anyone else, Tazz could be, if they'd give him the right push and angle, which looks like they are, albeit slowly. So if...err.......when they turn HHH, who can he fight with?? I don't think that the Kurt Angle angle (can you do that?) will last very long, perhaps only one month (until the August PPV), but it will be a very entertaining feud to say the least! Benoit is the only guy left! I must be missing someone in there! Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all shakes out. I just think it would be better to leave him heel for a while more, until you can get more top level heels to fight the many baby faces in the WWF.
